What Cairn does with your files
Cairn scans folders on your Mac that you choose, entirely on your device. Scanned files, file names and contents are not uploaded or shared with us or anyone else. Cairn does not read the contents of files when looking for privacy-related traces; it works from locations and file names.
What Cairn does not collect

- No personal information about you
Data stored on your Mac
Cairn keeps a small amount of data locally, such as your folder access choices, a history of cleanups so you can restore items, and your trial state. This data stays on your Mac, and you can remove it by deleting the app's data.
On-device AI explanations
On supported Macs, Cairn can use Apple's on-device AI to explain findings. This runs on your device. AI explanations are separate from Cairn's safety decisions and cannot authorize any deletion.
Purchases
If you buy Cairn Pro through this website, payment is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record, which collects the payment and billing details needed to complete the sale and is responsible for that data under its own privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy. We receive the details needed to provide your licence and support, such as your email address and order information. Purchases made in the Mac App Store are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
