These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Cairn for Mac ("Cairn", the "Software") and the hastech.online website. Cairn is published by Hastech, operated by Muhammad Wajih ul Hassan ("we", "us", "our"). By installing or using Cairn, or by purchasing a licence, you agree to these Terms.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Cairn on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer or redistribute the Software, except where applicable law gives you that right.
2. Free features and Cairn Pro
Scanning, analysis and previewing are free. Actions that change files or system state (cleanup, Empty Trash, recovery, uninstall, duplicate and similar-photo removal, privacy, developer and maintenance actions) require Cairn Pro. A 24-hour Pro trial is offered before purchase.
3. Plans, payment and renewal
- Monthly: US$4.99 per month, auto-renewing.
- Yearly: US$29.99 per year, auto-renewing.
- Lifetime: US$49.99, a one-time payment with no renewal.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may be shown with applicable taxes at checkout. Purchases made through this website are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, whose terms apply to the payment itself. Purchases made through the Mac App Store are processed by Apple under Apple's terms and its Standard Licence Agreement.
4. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund policy.
5. Your responsibility for your files
Cairn is designed to be cautious: items are classified, previewed, confirmed by you and moved to the Trash first where supported. However, you choose what to remove. Keep backups of anything important. Recovery is possible only while an item remains in the Trash or another location Cairn can still read, and is not guaranteed.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Cairn unlawfully, to circumvent licence checks, or to remove files that you are not entitled to remove.
7. No warranty
Cairn is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Cairn. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Cairn in the twelve months before the claim. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Updates and changes
We may update the Software and these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
